Survey: 2016 could be the best year for Romania’s economy after 2009
The Romanian economy could record its highest performance after 2009 this year, according to a survey made in December last year by the business information and credit risk management firm KeysFin.
The positive evolution, however, depends on the tax development as well as the political environment, as general elections will take place this year.
Some 57% of the business people interviewed by KeysFin expect a positive trend in Romania’s economy this year whereas 28% see a steady evolution. Only 15% expect a negative outcome.
By comparison, the economic barometer from June last year showed than 33% of the investors were expecting a bad development. The investors’ perception has changed as consumption has increased due to the VAT cut, and lending has resumed.
