Romania’s Tax Agency ANAF has again put up for sale various real estate assets belonging to Robert Negoita, Bucharest’s District 3 mayor. ANAF has initiated the enforcement to recover the debt Negoita has to the state.

The auctioned assets include 60 apartments, almost 1,230 underground parking places and 12 underground spaces. The auction’s starting price is the estimated price for each property reduced by half, reports local Profit.ro. The cumulated value of these properties, which are located in Popesti Leordeni, near Bucharest, amounts to some EUR 3 million.

In 2011, ANAF estimated that Robert Negoita owed the state budget about EUR 28 million. The amount accounted for the real estate transactions the mayor carried out between 2006 and 2008.

At the beginning of September, Negoita was elected president of the Social Democrat Party’s Bucharest organization. In his speech, Negoita said that his main objectives were the fight against corruption and efficient administration.
