Telekom plans to set its own bank in Romania
Telekom Romania, the local subsidiary of German group Deutsche Telekom, plans to set up a Telekom bank in Romania, which will grant loans and will get deposits from customers, according to Miroslav Majoros, the company’s CEO, reports local Ziarul Financiar.
Telekom had some 5.9 million mobile clients and some 2 million clients for fixed telecom services in Romania.
The group already started a partnership with Polish group Alior Bank in August. Based on this agreement, Alior Bank provides banking services to some 6 million Telekom customers.
