The European Commission has agreed to finance the 70-km Sebes – Turda highway in Romania, which will receive money from the EC during two financing sessions – 2007 – 2013, which was prolonged until 2015, and 2014-2020.

The bid for the four lots of this highway was finalized in December 2013, but contracts were not yet signed, and a few appeals were submitted. So work cannot start in due time to get all the funding during the first period, according to Hotnews.ro.

The total budget for this project is EUR 621 million, of which some EUR 221 million for the first phase.
