The LEGO Festival comes to Romania for the first time
The first LEGO Festival in Romania starts on Sunday, November 9, in AFI Cotroceni Mall, one of the largest malls in Bucharest.
Tens of LEGO 3D figures will be displayed within the mall. Among these there will be some famous characters such as Darth Vader from Star Wars, Captain Rex, McQueen, Oliva, Woody, Matrioshka, Camel, Cragger and others.
A total of 1,700 LEGO pieces, weighing almost 2 tons, were used to build the figures and the whole. It took more than 2,500 hours to make all the displayed pieces, according to AFI Palace representatives.
The LEGO festival is part of the mall’s five year celebration events.
AFI Cotroceni Mall is one of the largest shopping centers in Bucharest and in Romania. The mall has 55,000 visitors each day (in the first half of 2014), on average, which is about 20 million visitors a year.
AFI Palace Cotroceni, the first project of AFI Europe in Romania, has a rentable area of over 80,000 sqm. The mall hosts the only IMAX cinema screen in Romania.
