Tim Hauser, Erin Dickins, Marty Nelson, Gene Pistilli and Pat Rosalia founded the group The Manhattan Transfer in the early '70s in New York. Tim Houser is currently the only member of the original line-up still in the band, which changed structure over time.

The Manhattan Transfer had two consecutive Grammy Awards in the category “Best Jazz Vocal Performance” with the songs “Route 66” and “Why Not”. Next was the album "Vowels", for which the group has received no less than 12 Grammy Award nominations in 1985, being at that time surpassed only by Michael Jackson’s album "Thriller".

The most recent album, "The Chick Korea Songbook" is a tribute to the American musician, Chick Corea, himself being present on one of the album’s songs, “Free Samba”.

Update, September 16: The concert to be held by the jazz group The Manhattan Transfer Band has been postponed for November 11, 2011. The  change will not affect the validity of already purchased tickets. They will remain valid for the evening of November 11.
