The Mirror presents Romania’s Transylvania and its “medieval towns straight from a fairytale” in tourism article
British publication The Mirror recently published a tourism article about the “magnificent” Transylvania, central Romania, and its “medieval towns straight from a fairytale”.
The author of the article, Chris Granet, talks about his road trip in Romania, which started in Bucharest. For him, Romania’s capital has been a revelation: “Despite Ceausescu’s best efforts to bulldoze in massive Soviet monuments, the historic old town is still filled with crumbling French buildings – many of them now bars, or spaces for outdoor raves on hot weekends”.
He also made a stop in the mountain resort Sinaia, visited the “magnificently ornate Peles Castle”, and continued his trip to the beautiful towns in Transylvania, including Brasov, Sighisoara and Sibiu.
“Its beauty is staggering – one of the only living medieval citadels in Europe, with winding streets studded with towers,” he writes about Romania’s Sighisoara.
