The Tree of Books, or the return to print book reading in a Bucharest park
All print book enthusiasts have reasons to relax while reading in the Cismigiu Park in Bucharest, within The Tree of Books (Copacul cu carti) project, which aims to encourage the return to print book reading. The event is organized between July 21 and August 6.
Lounge chairs have been placed on the lawn behind the Monte Carlo restaurant in the park and visitors can choose a book from a tree that plays the role of a library. There are also audiobooks that can be played on devices provided on the spot.
A DJ will also provide the musical background throughout the event and documentaries will be screened in the evening. The event’s program also includes workshops and fitness and yoga sessions.
The reading and relaxation area is open between 17:00 and 22:00 from Monday to Friday, and between 10:00 and 13:00, 17:00 and 22:00 in the weekends.
