“The Trials of J. Robert Oppenheimer” documentary on Bucharest screen next week

“The Trials of J. Robert Oppenheimer”, a documentary that presents the rising and fall of one of America's most influential scientists will be screened on November 21 at the Romanian Peasant’s Museum in the capital city, Horia Bernea Studio (3, Monetariei St.), starting 19:00 hours.

The documentary, directed by David Grubin, is narrated by Zoe Wanamaker, whose own father experienced the virulent anti-communism of McCarthyism firsthand. The movie follows the biography of Oppenheimer, starting with childhood, and going on about his troubled teenage, his affirmation as a brilliant scientist in America, his involvement in the Manhattan Project and, in the end, his falling.

The movie is screened during the British Documentary event that will take place in Bucharest until December 19.
