Third graders in Romania will learn from tablets starting March 2015, according to the Romanian Minister for Information Society, Razvan Cotovelea.

Digital textbooks and other necessary education applications will be installed on the tablets, which will be purchased by auction, reports local Mediafax.

"Without any discrimination, all approximately 220,000 third graders will receive tablets in March 2015. The estimated value of the auction stays at around EUR 20 million, 85% of the money being covered from European funds," said the Minister.

Second and fourth graders are also to receive tablets by June 2015.
