Third largest shopping mall in Bucharest expects 10-15% turnover increase this year
Managers of Sun Plaza shopping mall in Southern Bucharest estimate a turnover increase of 10-15% this year, compared to 2013, when the company’s revenues were of EUR 26.3 million.
The mall’s turnover represents 15% of mall tenants’ sales. This means shops and restaurants in Sun Plaza had sales of about EUR 175 million last year, which should also grow in 2014, according to Capital.ro.
Sun Plaza is the third largest mall in Bucharest by sales, after Baneasa Shopping City and AFI Cotroceni Mall.
The mall has a total leasable area of 81,000 sqm and is currently fully occupied. It has 142 tenants, according to real estate consultancy firm CBRE, which has been managing the mall since September 2013.
The mall was inaugurated in 2008 and its number of visitors has been constantly growing with about 10% per year, according to CBRE. Sun Plaza currently has an average of 36,000 visitors a day during the week and 50,000 visitors a day at the weekends, with most visitors coming from the neighboring areas.
