Three retro car events this weekend in Romania
Retro automobile enthusiasts are set for a busy weekend, as three events are programmed to take place in the Romanian cities of Baia Mare, Brasov and Constanta starting this Friday, according to Retromobil Club Romania. Over 150 owners of vintage cars are expected to attend these events.
The largest event will take place in Baia Mare, the capital of the Maramures region of Romania, where more than 70 owners of Volkswagen Beetle (Kafer) vintage cars are expected to attend the 10th international meeting of Kafer owners. The event will take place from Friday to Sunday (May 9 to 11) in Millenium, Square Baia Mare’s old city center, where the cars will be on display from 10,00 to noon.
Another event will take place in Brasov, on Saturday, May 10, in Sfatului Square, where over 60 Dacia cars will be displayed during the Dacia Clasic national meeting. The exhibit will feature only models of Dacia cars produced in 1968 (Dacia 1100) and 1969 (Dacia 1300) as the event marks 45 years since the Dacia automobile plant in Mioveni (Arges county) started production.
The third event will take place in the Ovidiu Square in the center of Constanta, with 32 vintage automobiles expected to join the parade. The oldest car that will be displayed in this event was produced in 1913.
These events are organized by Retromobil Club Romania in collaboration with the local authorities.
