Three Romanian firms to digitize civil status database for EUR 35 million
A consortium of Romanian companies which includes UTI Group, CertSign and AM Project Design & Consulting will design and create the system for issuing civil documents (SIIEASC), as part of a contract worth EUR 35 million, according to the Romanian Communications Ministry.
The contract is final following decisions by the Court of Appeal and the National Council for Litigation Settlement to rule out the other two offers. One of the other consortiums which placed a bid for this contract was led by Romanian IT company Romsys, while Siveco was among the members of the third consortium.
The system will be financed with structural funds and should be delivered by July 1, 2015. This project also includes the digitization of all civil documents issued in Romania in the last 100 years, a total of some 75 million documents.
