Tourists spend EUR 12 mln at the Romanian seaside during weekend
The 130,000 tourists who went to the Romanian seaside in the past weekend spent over EUR 12 million on accommodation, food and fun.
The number of tourists increased by 15% compared to the same period last year and by 35% compared to the previous weekend, according to the Romanian Tourism Employers Federation.
Tourists spent about EUR 4.1 million on food this weekend, whereas the accommodation costed EUR 4.6 million. The money allocated for fun reached EUR 2.8 million.
A tourist spent on average EUR 45 daily on accommodation, food and fun, said Dragos Raducan, first vice-president of the Romanian Tourism Employers Federation. “This shows that the Romanian seaside remains the cheapest summer holiday option for Romanians,” he added.
