Toyota sees higher sales in Romania in H1

Inchape Group, which includes Toyota Romania, has registered a turnover of EUR 116.4 million in the first six months of 2017, up 25.9% year-on-year.

The growth was mainly registered due to the very good performance of new car sales, and the mix of sales in which Lexus and hybrid cars Have played an essential role, according to the company.

Moreover, the sale of parts and accessories also contributed to the visible increase in turnover. As a result, over EUR 7 million were generated on this segment, an increase of over 8% year-on-year.

The best-selling model with conventional engine was Toyota Corolla, a model that represents over 25% of the group's sales. Meanwhile, Yaris Hybrid was the best-selling model with hybrid engine, while Toyota Hybrid reached a total market share of 88% on the eco segment, with 863 units sold.

The Lexus model also saw a 10% year-on-year increase in the first six months.

A total of 52,341 cars were registered in the relevant segments, the company also said. Toyota and Lexus represent 4.1% of the total number of registrations made across the country in the first half of 2017.

For this year, the company expects a 25% increase in sales year-on-year, to around EUR 273 million, according to Edit Corcoman-Tarcolea, general manager Toyota Romania.
