Tradition continues: Work kicks off on Romania’s Hotel of Ice
Romania’s famous Hotel of Ice is currently being built at Balea Lake, in Fagaras Mountains, marking its eleventh season in the 2015/2016 winter. The workers started building the hotel’s first walls and will soon begin to cut the blocks of ice from the lake.
The hotel, which is the only such building in Southeast Europe, will have 14 rooms that will be named after European states, reports local Digi24. Throughout the season, the tourists will be able to eat and have a drink at the hotel’s restaurant and Ice Bar.
The Hotel of Ice is to be opened for visiting on December 24.
