Turkish Garanti Bank reports EUR 2.4 mln profit in Romania after first quarter
Turkish lender Garanti Bank posted a profit of EUR 2.4 million in Romania in the first quarter of this year, following a growth trend that was on for the last four years, according to the bank. Garanti's assets in Romania reached EUR 1.5 billion at the end of March this year, while its loans portfolio grew to EUR 835 million and its deposits, to EUR 470 million.
“We will continue to invest in local development projects. These investments will firstly target the expansion of the network of units, as well as the IT infrastructure,” said Murat Atay, general director of the Garanti Group. The group includes Garanti Bank, Garanti Leasing, Garanti Credite de Consum (consumer loans) and Garanti Credite Ipotecare (mortgage loans).
