Turnover in wholesale trade, up 8.4% in Romania in September
Romania’s wholesale trade turnover increased by 8.4% in September compared to the same month in 2015.
The growth pace significantly slowed down compared to August, and was mainly supported by the trade with machines and agricultural products. The trade with machines and equipment recorded an advance of 23.9% in September compared to the same month last year.
In August, the turnover in the wholesale trade saw an annual increase of 15.1%, the highest growth pace in the last years. It was mainly boosted by the trade with agricultural products.
The wholesale trade turnover is important because is an indicator of the businesses among companies in the retail sector. It is mainly practiced by retailers that buy products in large quantities, which they later sell in smaller quantities.
