Two bronze medals for Romania at the International Philosophy Olympiad in Estonia

Romanian students Teodora Groza and Anda Maria Zahiu got bronze medals at the 23rd International Philosophy Olympiad in Estonia.

The competition was organized between May 14 and May 18 and gathered 84 participants from 39 countries in Europe, Asia, North America and South America, according to the Romanian Ministry of Education.

The general theme of the contest was “Disagreements” and included academic presentations and debates for both students and teachers.

A group of teachers from Bulgaria, Germany, Poland, Romania, Turkey and Hungary founded the International Philosophy Olympiad 1993. The competition is officially recognized by UNESCO.

Romania has participated in all editions and has even hosted the Olympiad twice: in 1998 in Brasov and in 2008 in Iasi.
