Two consortiums submit offers for Romania’s Comarnic - Brasov highway
Two consortiums have submitted final offers to build the 58-kilometer long Comarnic – Brasov highway in Romania, according to the Department for Infrastructure Projects and Foreign Investments.
The first consortium comprises three companies namely Vinci (France) Strabag (Austria) and Aktor (Greece) while the second just two, Impregilo and Salini (Italy)
The company UMB Spedition, which previously announced its participation in the bid, “has chosen to not submit a final offer,” reads a statement of the Department for Infrastructure.
The winning offer will be announced on December 20, 2103.
The Romanian Minister delegate for infrastructure projects, Dan Sova, announced at the end of November this year that the European Investment Bank (EIB), the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the World Bank have shown interest in financing Romania’s Comarnic-Brasov highway.
According to the minister, work on the new highway will begin in April 2014, and the costs will amount to some EUR 1.3 billion.
