Two investment projects in Ilfov and Maramures get EU funds
The European Commissioner for Regional Policy Corina Cretu approved the phasing of two major projects in the counties of Ilfov and Maramures, which got financing in the 2007 - 2013 financial exercise and will be completed in the current programming period, according to a press release issued yesterday by the European Commission Representation in Romania.
The two investment projects in the Ilfov and Maramures counties can be completed until 2020.
In the Ilfov county, the project concerns the rehabilitation and modernization of water infrastructure and sewerage systems. The project is co-financed by the Cohesion Fund with about EUR 54 million. The project also involves the construction and rehabilitation of water reservoirs and pumping stations in several villages and towns near Bucharest.
In Maramures, the project aims to develop the integrated waste management system. The co-financing from the European Union through the European Regional Development Fund amounts to nearly EUR 14 million.
