US ride-sharing company Uber, which provides smartphone users an alternative service to taxis, recorded a turnover of EUR 342,000 in Romania last year compared to RON 0 in 2014.

The firm also made a net profit of over EUR 12,000, compared to losses of EUR 1,500 in 2014.

At the end of last year, Uber Systems Romania recorded debts of over EUR 76,400 and receivables of over EUR 27,500, according to data from the Ministry of Finance. The company was registered at the end of July 2014. It had three employees last year.

The firm is owned by Uber International Holding BV and Uber International BV, both registered in the Netherlands.
