Ethnic Hungarians’ leader: We have a thousand reasons to bring down the Govt.
The Democrat Union of Hungarians in Romania (UDMR), one of the small parties in Romania’s Parliament whose votes could help maintain or overturn the current Government, hasn’t decided yet if its MPs will vote the no-confidence motion filed by the Social Democratic Party (PSD).
“We will decide on the day of the vote,” said UDMR leader Kelemen Hunor in an interview with Adevarul.
Hunor says his party hasn’t negotiated with the PSD its support for the no-confidence motion and that he told PSD leader Marcel Ciolacu in July that UDMR wouldn’t vote it. However, the UDMR leader criticized the Government’s activity in some harsh terms.
“We have a thousand reasons to bring down the Government,” he said.
At the same time, the UDMR leader wouldn’t say no to forming a ruling coalition with the current ruling party – PNL and with the USR-PLUS alliance, after the parliamentary elections later this year.
