Ukraine's Nova Poshta launches operations in Romania
Romania is the fifth foreign market where Ukraine's largest private postal and courier operator Nova Poshta (Nova Post) opened an office after Moldova, Poland, Latvia and the Czech Republic. An office in downtown Bucharest, on Unirii Boulevard, was opened and operates parcels of up to 30kg.
The company will next target Germany with a new office.
While in the other four markets, the company serves as a connection with customers in Ukraine, in Romania, it will operate transfers with Moldova as well - hence between two foreign markets – serving as the target segments more than the Ukrainian diaspora.
Nova Poshta Moldova is already the leader of the express courier market in the Republic of Moldova – where a large community of Ukrainian refugees settled.
Nova Poshta serves both individual customers and firms and aims to stir trade between Ukraine and the target markets.
"[For now] we have services for individuals, but we will shortly launch operations for companies," said Mikhail Popovici, general manager of Nova Poshta Global Ro, the local subsidiary of the Ukrainian courier, quoted by Profit.ro.
"For this year, Nova Poshta's Romanian subsidiary aims to reach a volume of 100,000 parcels for both categories of customers," said Popovici, who leads Nova Poshta's operations in Moldova, where the company is in the Top 3 of the market.
