Unemployment in Romania’s euro regions falls to 6.8%
Unemployment in Romania’s euro regions dropped last year to 6.8% from 7.1% in 2013. The long-term unemployment went up to 41.1%, according to EU’s statistical office.
In the Macroregion 1, consisting of the North-West and Central regions, the unemployment rate was 6.2% in 2014, down from 6.5% in the previous year.
In the Macroregion 2, which reunites the North-East and South-East regions, the unemployment rate was 6.6% in 2014, compared to 6.7% the previous year.
In Romania's Macroregion 3, consisting of South-Muntenia and the Bucharest-Ilfov regions, the unemployment rate fell to 8.2% in 2014 from 8.9% in the last year.
In the Macroregion 4, reuniting South-West Oltenia and the West regions, the unemployment rate was 5.7% in 2014, down from 6.2% in the previous year.
