Unemployment rate drops in Romania
There were over 461,800 unemployed people in Romania in September, down some 2,000 compared to August. The unemployment rate stood at 5.11%, slightly down from the month before, according to data from the National Agency for Employment ANOFM.
The highest unemployment rates were recorded in the counties of Vaslui– 10.57%, Teleorman– 10.14%, Mehedinti– 9.83%, Buzau– 9.59% and Galati– 8.73%.
The unemployment rate for men also dropped slightly month-on-month to 5.44%, while the rate for women stood at 4.72%. The largest number of unemployed people was registered in the 40-49 and 30-39 age groups.
