British Gary Whitlie is the new president of brewer Ursus Breweries in Romania, having joined the company from another position within the SAB Miller Group, where he has worked for 26 years. Whitlie will take the helm of Ursus in June this year. He used to be general manager of Chamdor Breweries in South Africa and coordinated the activity for Miller Brands, SAB Miller's operations in the UK. Since 2008 he was managing director of Dreher Breweries in Hungary. The 53-year old manager is married, has two children and two grandchildren; his hobbies include traveling, photography, golf and skiing. He will be replacing Stephan Maria Weber, who used to run Ursus in Romania for the last two years.
