US group opens R&D center in Romania
US group 3M has opened its first innovation center in Romania. It is the company’s 54th center worldwide.
The company spends USD 1.8 billion on research and development worldwide, namely 5% of its turnover, said Catalin Velescu, 3M Romania managing director.
3M is a conglomerate of companies that produces more than 55,000 products, including adhesives, abrasives, laminates, passive fire protection, dental and orthodontic products, electronic materials, medical products, car-care products (sun films, polish, wax, car shampoo, treatment for the exterior, interior and the under chassis rust protection), electronic circuits, and optical films.
It owns 2,500 patents recognized in the entire world.
