US investment fund buys 2,700 ha of farmland in Romania
The company Southern Harvest, a subsidiary of the US investment fund Anholt Services, bought another 2,700 hectares of farmland in Romania in two different transactions, according to PRNewswire.
The land surface the company owns in Romania thus rose by 45%.
In April 2014, Southern Harvest bought some 6,000 sqm farmland in Romania. The transaction took place a few months after Romania legalized the selling of farmland to foreign private investors. A large surface of this land is cultivated organically, according to the company.
