Romanian online retailer Vegis.ro invests EUR 0.6 mln in new warehouse

04 July 2018

Online retailer Vegis.ro has started building a new warehouse for natural, bio and vegan products and natural food supplements, with an investment of EUR 600,000.

The new warehouse is located in Brasov mountain resort and covers an area of 1,000 sqm. It also hosts the offices of the retailer’s team of 20 people.

Vegis.ro decided to build the new warehouse following a positive growth in orders and the Romanians' increased interest in natural products, the company said. In 2017, the retailer registered 35% more orders than in the year before, and the positive evolution continued in the first four months of 2018, when the number of orders increased by more than 40%.

“This is a strategic investment for us, to be able to manage efficiently and sustainably the projected increases for the next years, of 25-35% per year. The current warehouse allows us to process current orders, but at peak times we have found that we need more capacity and automation,” said Mihai Bucuroiu, development manager and founder Vegis.ro.

At present, the processing capacity is of 600 orders a day, and the new deposit will allow the retailer to double the number to up to over 1,200 orders a day, a level that Vegis.ro expects to reach in the next 2 years.

Vegis.ro was established in early 2012. It sells natural, organic or vegan products.
