Vodafone records lower revenues in Romania for the fiscal year ended March 31
Telecom operator Vodafone had revenues of GBP 627 million (some EUR 740 million) in Romania, according to the company’s preliminary results for the fiscal year ended on March 31, 2013. At the end of March, 2012, Vodafone Romania’s revenues were GBP 701 million.
The company’s EBITDA profit was GBP 225 million (around EUR 266 million) at the end of the 2012/2013 fiscal year, compared to GBP 262 million recorded at the end of March last year.
The number of Vodafone customers in Romania also dropped from 8.12 million customers registered on January 1, 2013, to some 8.08 million at the end of March, of which almost 60 percent were prepaid customers.
At a group level, Vodafone revenues decreased 4.3 percent, to some GBP 44 billion. Full report here.
In the quarter ended on December 31, 2012, the telecom operator posted revenues of GBP 143 million (some EUR 177 million), while in the same period of 2011, Vodafone Romania’s service revenues were GBP 167 million.
Vodafone launched 4G services in Romania in November last year.
