Romanian Catalin Buliga will be the new technology director of telecom company Vodafone Romania starting May 1, 2016. He will replace Italian Giovanni Chiarelli, who will be promoted Technology Director at Vodafone Spain, the company announced.

Buliga is currently Head of Fixed Access Network at Vodafone. He will also join the company's executive management team starting May 1.

He joined Vodafone Romania in September 2015. He had previously worked in the company’s technical department for 10 years, until 2008. After that, he held leadership positions at telecom operator UPC for seven years, including CTO at UPC Romania and UPC Hungary.

Catalin Buliga graduated from the Technical University Gheorghe Asachi in Iasi, Romania, in 1995.
