Vodafone Romania ups revenues, gains over 330,000 clients in July-September
Vodafone Romania reached service revenues of EUR 173 million in the quarter ended September 30, 2015, up by 4% on an organic basis compared to the same period of last year. The company also saw a strong increase in the number of customers in the same three months.
Vodafone Romania added over 330,000 new mobile customers in the analyzed period, reaching 8.43 million mobile clients at the end of September, according to the parent group’s financial report. The postpaid customers represented close to 41% of the total number of mobile clients.
The company’s total number of customers, which includes mobile services users, fixed voice and Internet users, and m2m, reached 5.05 million, representing an increase of 546,000 users compared to same period of last year.
Mobile internet continued to be the growth engine. Data usage in the Vodafone Romania network increased by 135% for the quarter ended September 30, 2015, compared to the same period of last year.
Smartphone penetration increased by 7 percentage points, with smartphone sales increasing by 63% compared to the same period of last year.
