Volksbank Romania appoints Sorin Serban new VP
Volksbank Romania recently appointed Sorin Serban new vice president. He will coordinate the Restructuring and Loans Recovery department.
Sorin Serban has over 16 years of experience in finance, of which more than 12 years are in risk management and lending. Before joining Volksbank, he held the position of Chief Risk Officer at Garanti Bank Romania. He previously held several management positions in Romania at Millennium Bank, OTP Bank, CA IB Corporate Finance, and abroad at ING Bank Canada, where he was Market Risk Analyst.
Volksbank entered the Romanian market in 2000. Currently, Volksbank Romania is one of the largest banks on the local market with assets of EUR 4.7 billion and a network of around 135 units. In October last year, Volksbank Romania’s shares, previously owned by Volksbank International, were transferred to VBI Beteiligungs GmbH.
