Volume of logged timber goes up by 1.2% in Romania
The volume of logged timber in Romania increased by 1.2% to almost 17 million cubic meters in 2014.
The volume of round timber produced increased by 0,9% last year compared to 2013. This was mainly due to the increase in the volume of logged timber.
The coniferous species represent about 42.7% of the round timber volume, whereas the deciduous species account for about 57.3%.
The main use of round timber was timber processing, which reached around 56.3%. About 4.8 million cubic meters of round wood were used for heating, down 249,000 cubic meters compared to 2013.
