Vonino sells 150,000 tablets on the Romanian market
American smartphone and tablet producer Vonino sold some 150,000 tablets in Romania last year, a record number of such devices, which helped the company post a EUR 14 million turnover on the local market. The company thus reached the turnover target it had previously announced, up from EUR 8 million in 2013.
Vonino’s market share on the tablet market was of 15%, up 10% on 2013, according to its own data. The company focused on tablets in 2014, but will also prioritize smartphones in 2015, when it plans to grow aggressively on this segment, according to Dragos Vasile, executive director with Vonino in Romania. The year before, Vonino had sold 65,000 tablets and 15,000 smartphones in Romania.
The company was created in 2009 and sells electronic products, ranging from tablets and smartphones, to TV boxes and gadgets. In Romania, it sells low-cost devices, with some tablets selling for as low as the equivalent of EUR 50.
