Vote by mail for parliamentary elections - high priority in Romania
Drafting a law for the future parliamentary elections that includes voting by mail is of high priority, said Valeriu Zgonea, the President of the Chamber of Deputies. However, the vote by mail for the presidential elections should be discussed only in five years, for the next elections, according to Zgonea.
“We agreed with the leaders of the parliamentary groups that the vote by mail is important for the Chamber of Deputies and Senate elections in 2016. Next week we’ll convene the committee for amending the law,”said Zgonea, cited by local Mediafax.
The same committee will also analyze whether it’s useful to introduce the vote by mail for the local elections.
“As for the presidential elections, we’ll see in five years. Our priority now is that everyone can vote for the future Parliament,”he added.
