The wages in the private sector rose by 4.4% last year compared to 2014 whereas the value of bonuses went up by almost 19%, according to Smartree Workforce Index.

Thus, the employees’ welfare improved by 6.2%, the study shows.

Employees took 11.5% more vacations, which may reflect the fact that companies added more people and that it was easier for employees to leave without affecting the companies’ workflow. The number of new employees increased by 11% year-on-year.

The Workforce Index was developed by HR company Smartree, which provides payroll services, personnel management, recruiting, consultancy and temporary employment.

Smartree had a turnover of EUR 9.6 million last year. The business went up from EUR 8.4 million in 2014.
