'When we were Byzantium', old music recital scheduled for late March
The vocal – instrumental band “Anton Pann”, which plays old music and medieval – inspired songs will perform on Thursday, March 31, starting 19.30 hours at the Romanian Cultural Institute (38, Aleea Alexandru), in a first event of a program called "When we were Byzantium". The entry at this event is free.
The same evening, Constantin Raileanu, an Anton Pann band member, will talk about Romanian music. The evening will also include screenings of experimental dance performed by Romanian ensemble "Coconite".
The series of musical encounters "When we were Byzantium", organized by the Romanian Cultural Institute between March and December this year, include recitals of Romanian and foreign bands and performers. “Anton Pann” band’s music has its origins in medieval manuscripts, Byzantine, Ottoman and Western, being influenced by the the Romanian folklore and spirit.
