Three in five Romanians (60%) have had financial problems as adults and only one third are happy with their current financial situation, according to an iVOX online study made for Kruk Romania, one of the biggest debt recovery firms in the local market. More than 4,000 people responded to this survey.

Some 87% of the respondents said they were affected by debt. Most of theem think that their financial problems were determined by the general economic situation (45%) or simply bad luck (unemployment, illness, unpredicted event – 19%). Only 36% of the respondents admitted that their own decisions led to their financial problems.

The study also shows that 87% of those questioned have a good opinion about themselves and six in ten believe that they can solve their financial issues on their own.
