Who will broadcast Euro 2016 matches in Romania?
PRO TV, the biggest private TV station in Romania, and Dolce Sport, a sports channel owned by Deutsche Telekom, will broadcast matches from the European Football Championship (UEFA Euro 2016), which takes place in France, between June 10 and July 10. Romania’s national football team will also play in this competition.
PRO TV will broadcast the competition’s 23 most important matches, which are included in the free-to-air option. The include the derbies in the group stage as well as Romania’s three matches, and all the quarter finals, semifinals, and the final.
Deutsche Telekom’s Dolce Sport owns the rights to broadcast all the matches at the UEFA Euro 2016. However, Dolce sport is only available to Deutsche Telekom’s TV service clients (cable or satellite).
Romania’s national team qualified to the Euro 2016 for the fifth time. Romania will play the opening match against hosts France on June 10. Then, on June 15, Romania meet Switzerland, and, on June 19, they play against Albania.
Romania also played at Euro 2008 in Austria and Switzerland. Their best performance at the European Championship was is 2000, in Germany/Netherlands, when they reached the quarter finals.
