Winter offer in Romania: Cheaper train rides to ski resorts
Romania’s state-owned railway passenger carrier CFR Calatori has recently launched the Snow Trains 2016 offer, available between January 1 and February 29, 2016.
In this period, the tourists will benefit from discounts of up to 56% for the special trains departing/arriving or transiting mountain resorts in the Prahova Valley, Vatra Dornei, Petrosani (Straja and Parang resorts), and Piatra Neamt.
CFR Calatori applies the following discounts:
-25% for the trains going to/from one of the resorts located on the Sinaia-Brasov route, in Vatra Dornei, Vatra Dornei Bai, Petrosani, and Piatra Neamt. The discount is valid from Monday to Thursday, for the second class tickets.
-25% on Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays for the trips which have Petrosani as a departure/arrival point and are made with IR 1827 and IR 1828 trains on the route Caracal-Targu Jiu-Petrosani and return. This discount is also available for the second class tickets.
-31%-56% for the InterRegio trains running on the routes in Prahova Valley, between Sinaia and Brasov.
For example, a trip between Bucharest and Petrosani costs RON 58.9 with this offer, RON 19.6 cheaper than the normal price, while a trip between Constanta and Petrosani costs RON 75.75 (RON 25.2 cheaper).
The discounts apply to the adults and children's fares and can’t be added to other offers, except for the 5% discount offered when buying the tickets online and the ones purchased from the ZebraPay vending machines, according to CFR Calatori.
