With over 19% market share in Q2, Lenovo becomes largest supplier of PCs in Romania

Lenovo has become the largest supplier of PCs in Romania, with a market share of 19.6 percent in the second quarter of this year, up from 10.9 percent in the same period in 2012, according to the recent data provided by the International Data Corporation (IDC).

“The constant increase recorded each quarter for the last two years made it possible for Lenovo to become, for the first time, leader on the Romanian PC market, according to IDC,” said Aurel Netin (in picture), general manager Lenovo Romania and Bulgaria.

Moreover, Lenovo Group officially became the top PC vendor in the world. According to IDC, the company reached a global market share of 16.7 percent in the second quarter of the year, compared to the 15 percent market share reported in the same period in 2012.

In the EMEA region (Europe/Middle East/Africa) Lenovo has become market leader in ten of the countries in the area, including Romania, and the largest supplier of PCs in Eastern Europe, reads a statement of the company. Lenovo recorded a 13.2 percent market share in the region, up 4.4 percent compared to the previous year, while the company’s revenues in the EMEA went up 18 percent, to USD 1.9 billion.

Lenovo is a USD 30 billion personal technology company and the world’s second-largest PC vendor. The company has over 30,000 employees in over 60 countries, serving customers in more than 160 countries.
