Low cost airline Wizz Air has flown over 2 million passengers in and out of Romania between December 2009 and November this year, which was 33.9 percent higher than the previous year. In total, the company had 9.5 million passengers in the last 12 months.

The number of passengers from and to Timisoara went up by 37.2 percent in the last 12 months, when the airline grew its flights operating from the Timisoara airport to 10.  Wizz Air operates on 12 airports in Poland, Hungary, Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary and the Czech Republic.
