Wizz Air sees number of passengers up 31 percent in five months
Low cost air carrier Wizz Air had 31 percent more passengers in the first five months of the year than in the same period of last year, according to the company's commercial director Gyorgy Abran. Wizz Air transported 736,000 passengers during this interval in Romania, up on the 562,000 passengers in the similar period of last year. The company has a market share of 46 percent in Romania, according to its data. Wizz Air plans to reach 2 million passengers by the end of the year on its flights to and from Romania.
Wizz Air runs a fleet of 32 aircrafts on 12 airports in Romania, Hungary, Poland, Bulgaria, Ukraine and the Czech Republic, where it operates on 42 routes. It has 8 aircrafts in Romania. The airline plans to start operating 12 more flights to and from Romania this summer- to Turin, Düsseldorf, Saragossa, Pisa, Palma de Mallorca and Alicante.
