UPDATE: Woman threatening to jump off high-rise Asmita Gardens block in Bucharest, saved after 7 hours
UPDATE 4PM: The woman has been saved after seven hours of standing on the balcony margin of the tower block's 13th floor, threatening to commit suicide.
According to the local media, the woman appeared to suffer from depression, and a fight with her boyfriend allegedly triggered her actions.
12PM: A woman has been threatening to jump off a tower block in the Vacaresti neighbourhood in Bucharest this morning (November 14).
The woman, reported to be 47, initially threatened to jump from the 15th floor before sliding down to the 13th after someone tried to pull her back over the balcony.
Police negotiators and the Emergency Situations Unit (ISU) are currently at the scene trying to convince her to come back over the balcony fence.
She's currently standing on the balcony margin of the residential tower, holding on to the guard rail.
The intervention team has also brought a 70-meter tower car to bring her down after convincing her to give up her protest.
It is yet unclear why the woman is currently protesting. According to several Romanian media sources, the woman may be 47-years-old and mentally ill.
The intervention team arrived at the scene after somebody called the emergency number 112.
