World Bank improves estimates on Romania's economic growth

The World Bank has significantly improved Romania's economic growth forecast to 3.9% for this year and 4.1% for the next year.

It has thus aligned to the estimations of other international institutions such as the European Commission and the International Monetary Fund.

The organization has also announced that Romania’s economy is expected to grow by 4% in 2018.

The World Bank has also revised its estimates on the last year’s GDP growth to 3.6%, according to the biannual report World Economic Prospects.

The World Bank's prognosis from June last year indicated an economic growth of 3% for 2015, 3.2% for 2016 and 3.5% for 2017.

In November last year, the European Commission estimated for Romania a growth of 3.5% in 2015, 4.1% in 2016 and 3.6% in 2017. The International Monetary Fund’s estimates were similar: 3.4% for 2015 and 3.9% for 2016.
