World Bank to discuss second EUR 300 mln disbursement for Romania next week
The World Bank will discuss on its January 20 Management Council meeting whether to grant Romania a second development policies loan, worth some EUR 300 million.
The WB pledged to offer a EUR 1 billion financing package. The first disbursement of the loan, of EUR 300 million, was approved in September 2009 and paid in October the same year.
Romanian President Traian Basescu has recently met the World Bank’s Vice President for Europe and Central Asia Philippe Le Houerou. The two discussed ways for the World Bank to support Romania in the current economic context. Philippe Le Houerou has also met members of the Romanian Government.
