Yearly Bucharest art exhibition looks at Romanian artists through the years
The Bucharest Art Pavilion Art Safari will take place this year between May 19 and June 18 at the Kretzulescu Galleries.
The exhibition will comprise of the Museum Pavilion, the Galleries Pavilion, the Art Dialogue conference center and the Art Safari Kids center, featuring activities for children. Some 100 stands and exhibition rooms will renew their display weekly, throughout the duration of the event.
This year’s edition of the event will feature an exhibition dedicated to Romanian painter Stefan Luchian. The exhibition is occasioned by the Luchian centennial and brings together hundreds of works concerned with the renewal that Luchian and other independent artists brought to the Romanian painting at the end of the 19th century.
Another focus of this year’s Art Safari is Romanian Artist – the Central Exhibition of the Galleries Pavilion, curated by Wim Waelput, the founding director and curator of Belgium, Ghent-based contemporary art space KIOSK. It will be a study about the typologies of the Romanian artist of the past 200 years.
Tickets at promotional prices are available until May 5. They cost RON 25 per day and RON 45 for the entire duration of the event. The exhibition is open daily between 12:00 and 21:00, and until 00:00 on Saturdays.
