AdePlast grows profit, plans to expand in the Republic of Moldova, Ukraine

04 August 2010

Local construction materials producer AdePlast increased its turnover by 25 percent in the first half of the year compared to the same period of last year, to EUR 13.7 million, the company has announced.

“2009 started roughly for the entire construction market due to alarming news and negative forecasts. Moreover, it was impossible to work in the first two months because of the frosting,” said Marcel Barbut, head of the company (in picture).

The increase in sold quantities was of 43 percent. The company rolled out a marketing campaign which focused on several products, whose prices were decreased. On an average, the company sells for 15 percent lower prices than in 2008. The promotions affected AdePlast's profit, but kept it on the positive end.

“We have money for the investments we have scheduled, the Moldova factory is the first in line. It is useful to have a factory in the core of Moldova because we plan to expand AdePlats to the Republic of Moldova and to Ukraine, where we already have ongoing contracts,” said Marcel Barbut.
